Fabulous deal from NYC boutique chain

I present to you GEM Hotels, yet another stellar example of new “boutique” hotel chains that are really doing it right for tourists and neighborhoods both.

At all four properties—Chelsea, Midtown, SoHo, and Union Square—the goal is to represent each neighborhood (Yup, that’s local music you hear as you stroll through the lobby), while providing guests complimentary services (bottled water, internet, fuzzy robes) that we have sadly grown accustomed to paying for.

Book and stay before February 28, and rates are as low as $129 a night with their “Wintertide” deal. (Rates usually hover in the $200 range.)

This is a very good deal from some very nice hotels that cater to the kind of tourists who really want to feel NYC.

If that’s you, jump on it.

(Though I do have to say, that pillow fight on the website kind of creeps me out. I hope those two aren’t staying in my room.)

Beverly Hills, like the star you are

Or maybe like the star you want to be. At any rate, why not do 90210 like the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210 did (and the cast of The Hills does) with this Themes and Dreams package: three nights at the Maison 140, a rented convertible with unlimited mileage, continental breakfast, and round trip flight from 10 U.S. cities. From $569 per person for travel by January 31, or add $50 for travel in February.
