You’ve got until March 4—

—to take advantage of these flight deals from Expedia!

Great flight-booking advice…

…from a very frugal traveler. The writer of the Frugal Traveler blog for the New York Times to be exact.

His name is Matt Gross, and in this particular post, he details exactly how he finds the cheapest air fare for an upcoming trip.

Spoiler: it’s an extensive process involving at least four websites and several hours.

And here we thought we were the extreme deal scroungers!

Travelocity’s “Low Fare Alert”

Are you guys getting Travelocity emails? I hope so. I am loving the “Low Fare Alert” emails. (It’s also a function the website under the “Flight” tab.

Holy Memphis, Batman! I just saw Minneapolis to Elvis’s hometown for $138.

This is quick and easy flight booking, friends. Just select your departure city and the lowest flights to most other major markets are listed.

And, as I’ve written before, Travelocity has the best terms of any online travel booking agency. NO FEES.

Frontier Airlines flight sale

$59 flights from Southwest Airlines

Low-fare sale from one of my fave airlines: Southwest. Why do I love it so much? You don’t pay for your bags, which makes a lot of sense to me, seeing as travelers have bags, and airlines service travelers.

Shouldn’t the airlines accept our bags as part of the equation, and not penalize us for them? I think so.

I would also like the airlines to accept the fact that we have legs, and make some room for them.

But I don’t want to get too greedy, especially when the flights to and from more than 50 U.S. cities start at $59 on this fare sale.

Book by November 23. For travel between December 2 through March 9.

Best winter beaching flight deals (so far)

This from Expedia and Air Tran:

Midwesterners looking to warm up this holiday season: Cancun is the most reasonable, with one-way flights for $94 or less.

Book by November 10 for travel by February 10.

JetBlue’s September “travel buffet”

Oh my, JetBlue. Oh my goodness. Really? Really?!?!

$599 “All You Can Jet” from 57 cities, on more than 600 daily flights.

Hurry, hurry, hurry. You’ve got until August 21, unless JetBlue stops the promotion, which they will if it gets too popular. For travel dates between September 8 and October 8. You must book each flight at least three days before departure. Other considerations apply, but seriously—this is a delicious and gorge-worthy travel buffet!

Facebook fare-finder from American Airlines

American Airlines has added a new fare-finding feature to its Facebook “Travel Bag” application.

So while you’re viewing photos of your long lost friends from high school and college, you can also begin planning to see them in person. When you are ready to book, the app sends you directly to the American Airlines booking site.

Maybe this Facebook thing will actually bring people together for real… (I’m checking rates for a San Fran reunion right now, Jonny and Theresa!)
