Victorian San Diego holiday

A blizzard currently blankets my Minneapolis neighborhood, and it makes me wonder how quickly I can get to San Diego for a few days in this fab Victorian Bed and Breakfast that’s off the beaten path (and on sale at Expedia).

Let the kids go sledding in heavy boots. Me and the hubby will drink white wine while wearing shorts on the porch of this home in the Gaslamp quarter, which is filled with frilly, breakable things kids can’t touch, unlike our real house, which is filled with all sorts of broken things the kids have already screwed up.

More holiday beaching: St. Thomas

All-inclusive holiday beaching in St. Thomas via this deal from Expedia: 50 percent off the Marriott Frenchman. A sample 4-night stay, with flight from NYC, comes up at only $530 per person.

I hear the lobster buffet is divine and the beachfront rooms offer a stunning location—water’s edge in 100 steps or less.

For travel before January 8.
