The Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center offers free fun for everyone and features an exceptional system of hiking trails.  History lovers will appreciate one of the largest collections of unbroken Mississippian pottery at Crisp Museum, and the handsomely restored Glenn House, a Victorian mansion where you’ll truly feel that you stepped back in time. 

Locally owned boutiques and shops in the historic downtown area make for a lovely day ducking in and out of charming shops and unique restaurants.  The Mississippi River beckons from behind the floodwall, where you can walk along and read storyboards that bring to life Cape Girardeau’s history with the Mississippi River Tales Mural.
