Aquarium of the Americas
Located right on the Mississippi River in the heart of the French Quarter is the award-winning Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. Explore the underwater worlds of the Caribbean, Amazon Rainforest, Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico. There’s plenty to see among the 10,000 animals and 400 different species. Highlights include the 30-foot-long aquatic tunnel featuring the Caribbean Reef and the 400,000-gallon Gulf of Mexico exhibit featuring sharks, sea turtles, stingrays and the largest tarpon in captivity.
