Hershey for the Holidays
By Judy Koutsky
Chocolate World, the official visitor’s center of Hershey foods, receives more than 5 million visitors per year, and “The Sweetest Place on Earth” is a great place to visit during the holidays.
In fact, this is an ideal time to visit since the park is not crammed with wall-to-wall people as it is in the summer. The lines for the rides, trolley tours and zoo are more manageable and simply more enjoyable in the winter and a more relaxed feel is in the air.
Plus, the park is transformed into Hersheypark Christmas Candylane. Over one million holiday lights adorn trees, rides, and attractions throughout the park. The Kissmas Tree, a central feature in the park, stands more than 50 feet tall and is decorated with Hershey’s Kisses-shaped ornaments. During special performances, “dancing lights” are choreographed with holiday songs; a great experience for the kids.
