Sitting at the base of Mt. Equinox in Manchester Village is the Equinox Resort and Spa. This resort goes to the heart of what makes New England special. Dating back to 1769, this resort resembles a colonial mansion, her warm white shingled exterior accessorized by green shutters and large, bay windows. Portraits dating back centuries hang on the walls and the two story lobby has floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the 1,300 acres of property. The resort feels soothing, peaceful, and tranquil--and so does the spa.
The spa radiates Vermont coziness. At the center of the spa lounge is a large, stone fireplace, with overstuffed armchairs and couches strategically placed nearby. Warm earth tones and sage hues were the soothing palate found throughout the spa. The spirit of Vermont was found in the smallest details: the leaf pattern intertwined in the light fixtures and carpet; the Vermont maple sugar used in the Maple Scrub treatment; the stones in the lobby harvested from nearby quarries. Even the names of the treatment rooms reflected the woody feel of the state: each room was named after a tree, beautiful photos of said tree taken by a local artist were displayed on the wall.
The 75-foot, indoor, heated pool, with air temperature two degrees warmer than the water, so one doesn’t get that chilled filling when leaving the pool, is a wonderful element. The exposed beams give the room a woody-natural feel.
