St. Lucia: Island Adventure Awaits

Where to Stay in St. Lucia

Coconut Bay Resort (www.cbayresort.com; (758) 456-9999) boasts an unbeatable location close to the island’s best attractions and activities.  Through the “Adventure St. Lucia” desk in the lobby guests can book excursions to go zip-lining through the treetops on a canopy tour, ride ATVs, mountain bike in the rainforest and hike the Piton Mountains. For those who want to take to the water it’s also possible to arrange for off-site snorkeling, scuba diving, windsurfing and kite boarding.

Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa not only offers a relaxing escape for couples, but is also a tropical playground for families and kids.  While adults relax at the spa or the adult-only pool area, kids can let their imaginations run wild at the Kidz Club and the Coco Land water park.

One of three pools at the resort, the adult-only area offers a secluded palm-fringed retreat, complete with hammocks and cabana beds.  Nestled between the wedding center and the Kai Mer spa, this part of the resort is peacefully quiet and conducive to lounging in the sun, reading or falling asleep to the sounds of the Atlantic Ocean and the breeze rustling the palms.

Couples can also pamper themselves at the full service Kai Mer spa.  The spa offers multiple ocean view treatment rooms with outdoor showers, a relaxation room, sauna and two steam rooms, as well as a full service salon providing spa manicures, pedicures and complete hair styling.

While adults are resting and rejuvenating, kids can get creative at the Kidz Club.  With a daily schedule of fun, supervised activities, children are happy to spend hours playing, creating, building and imagining at Coconut Bay’s Kidz Club.  With a special water feature of their own, kids love to splash around under the water spouts and buckets.  When all the activity has caught up with them, the children have a peaceful, cozy nap room in which they can recharge their energy.

The Coco Land water park is the biggest on the island and offers endless amounts of fun for kids of all ages (even the grown-ups).  Those looking for a slower pace can grab an inner tube and let the lazy river carry them along.  Those looking for a little more excitement can climb the stairs to the tower and choose one of the two slides.

The resort offers a variety of activities, entertainment and dining options.  There is a tennis center, three swimming pools and a complete fitness center featuring the latest equipment. There are two specialty restaurants offering a la carte dining, a buffet-style restaurant, a beachside grill and three bars, plus a swim-up pool bar.
