You are 30 or 40 or simply "not telling" and you always dreamed of grabbing your favorite girlfriends and escaping to a new and different world. The possibilities are endless. An Amazon trek, a hike to base camp at Mt. Everest, three days shopping in New York's SoHo or the Las Vegas weekend crammed with casinos, shows and spas, anything is possible.
Hold a meeting. Talk about what it will take to organize the trip. Who will watch the dog, the kids, the husband and the mail? Talk about all the dream destinations that no one in the group has visited. Narrow down the "things we want to do together" list to a "top three" list and split up the assignments to research the "best of" for each vacation. Reconvene.
Pick a destination. Make a plan to share rooms, meals and toothpaste, whatever it takes to get away together. Know that there may be a pillow fight in the offing and know that "girlfriend" time is priceless.
